Calendar and blocks
The calendar shows how many units you have free each night. With blocks you take units off sale without creating a booking.
How to read the calendar
In Calendar, each row is a room type (with its units next to it, for example 3 u.) and each cell tells you how many units are still free that night.
- Green: all units free.
- Amber: some booked or blocked.
- Red: none left.
- Grey: the type has 0 units.
- A padlock with a number shows how many units are blocked.
Hover over a cell to see the details: free, booked and blocked. With Days to show you choose 14, 30 or 60 days, and you move around with the arrows or Today.
Block dates
A block takes units off sale without creating a booking. Use it for maintenance, for your own use or for bookings that came in through another channel.
- Click Block dates.
- Choose the Room type.
- In From (first night), enter the first blocked night, and in To (check-out day), the day it becomes free again, as if it were a guest's check-out.
- Enter how many Units to block.
- Write a Reason (optional), for example "Maintenance" or "Airbnb booking", and click Block.
If you also sell on Airbnb or Booking
Roomii doesn't sync automatically with Airbnb, Booking or other channels yet. To avoid selling the same night twice:
- Every time a booking comes in through another channel, block it in Roomii with its reason.
- Every time a booking comes in through Roomii, block it on the other channels.
- If the booking reaches you by WhatsApp or phone, it's better to create it as a manual booking: it keeps the guest's details and reduces your inventory.
Remove a block
Below the calendar is the Active blocks list, starting from the date you're viewing. Click Remove on the block and confirm. The units go back on sale immediately.
Frequently asked questions
My receptionist doesn't see the "Block dates" button
That's normal: front-desk users can see the calendar, but only the owner can create or remove blocks.
Block or manual booking?
If it's a real guest who will pay you, make a manual booking: it's recorded with their details and payments, and it counts in your metrics. Use a block for everything else.
How long can a block last?
Up to 366 nights.
