Sync with Airbnb and Booking

Connect each room type with its listings on other channels. Roomii and the channels keep each other updated on booked nights.

How it works

Airbnb, Booking and almost every channel share their occupancy through a calendar link (iCal, ending in .ics). Syncing works both ways and is set up for each room type:

  • From Roomii to the channels: you give them Roomii's link and they block the nights you already sold here.
  • From the channels to Roomii: you give us each channel's link and we block in Roomii the nights you sold there.

Only booked dates are shared: no names, prices or guest details.

Send your Roomii occupancy to Airbnb or Booking

  1. Go to Rooms and, on the room's card, click Sync calendars.
  2. In step 1, click Copy to copy that room's link.
  3. On Airbnb, Booking or another channel, open the calendar of the listing for that room and look for the option to import or connect a calendar.
  4. Paste the link, give it a name (for example "Roomii") and save.

Bring Airbnb or Booking bookings into Roomii

  1. On the channel, look for the option to export the listing's calendar and copy the link.
  2. In Roomii, go to Rooms and click Sync calendars on that room.
  3. In Channel name, write where it comes from, for example "Airbnb".
  4. Paste the link into Calendar link (.ics) and click Add calendar.
  5. Next to the name you'll see Last synced with the date and time. Done.

Each night booked on the channel blocks 1 unit of that type. You'll see them in Calendar, under Active blocks, with the channel's name and the Synced label. You can add several channels to the same room.

If you see an error

If a red message shows up next to the calendar's name, Roomii couldn't read it and keeps the nights it had already blocked. The most common causes:

  • You copied the listing's page link instead of the calendar link. The right one usually ends in .ics.
  • The channel changed the link (this happens if you regenerate it there). Copy it again, remove the old calendar and add it again.
  • The link got cut off when you copied it.

Once you fix it, click Sync now to check it right away.

If a night gets booked twice

If a channel marks as taken a night you already sold on Roomii and you have no units left, we send you an email with the subject "Possible double booking in…" and the list of affected nights.

  1. Click Open calendar in the email: overbooked nights show in red.
  2. Decide which booking to keep and write to the other guest to cancel or relocate them.
  3. Cancel that booking on the channel where it was made. Roomii never cancels bookings on its own.

Stop syncing

In Rooms → Sync calendars, click Remove next to the calendar and confirm. The nights it blocked are free again on Roomii right away. Synced blocks can't be deleted one by one from the calendar: they're always removed this way.

To stop a channel from reading your Roomii occupancy, delete the imported calendar over there.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with channels other than Airbnb and Booking?

Yes, with any that provides or reads an iCal link (.ics): Vrbo, Expedia, Hostelworld, Google Calendar and most property management systems.

How many calendars can I connect?

Up to 10 per room type.

I have a type with several units and each one is a separate Airbnb listing

Import each listing's calendar into that same type: each booked night blocks 1 unit. To send your occupancy to Airbnb, use the same Roomii link on all those listings; a night is marked as taken only when no units are left.

Do bookings from other channels show up in Bookings?

No: iCal calendars only share dates, not guests. They show up as blocks in the calendar and don't count in your metrics.
