Day to day
Get paid online
Connect your own payment gateway account. Guests pay when they book, the money goes straight to you and the booking confirms itself.
How it works
You connect your own payment gateway account to Roomii. When booking, the guest chooses Online payment, pays on the gateway's secure page and comes back to your page with the booking confirmed. No receipts to review.
- The money goes straight to your gateway account. Roomii never receives it or charges a booking fee.
- The gateway does charge its own fee on each payment, according to your plan with it.
- The guest pays the full booking amount. If you only want to charge a deposit, use bank transfers.
- You can offer online payment alongside bank transfer and pay on arrival: the guest chooses.
Choose your gateway
- Mercado Pago: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
- Wompi: Colombia (cards, PSE, Nequi and Bancolombia). Only charges in Colombian pesos.
- ePayco: Colombia (cards, PSE, Nequi, Daviplata and cash). Charges in Colombian pesos or US dollars.
- PayU: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Each gateway only charges in certain currencies. If your rates are in another one, its card shows as unavailable. You can set up several, but only one charges at a time.
Connect your account
- Open an account with the gateway (if you don't have one) and find the keys or credentials section for integrations.
- In Roomii, go to Payments and click Set up on the gateway you chose.
- Under Environment, leave Sandbox (testing) to test first.
- Copy each key into its field. Below each one we tell you where to find it in the gateway.
- Leave Use this gateway to charge bookings (turns off the others) checked and click Save.
- Click Test credentials: if everything is right, you'll see a confirmation message.
Make a test booking
In the test environment, open your page, book as if you were a guest and choose Online payment. Pay with the test cards your gateway publishes in its documentation. No real money is charged. Within seconds the booking shows as confirmed in Bookings and you get the new booking email.
Go live
- In the gateway, copy the production keys (they're different from the test ones).
- In Roomii, click Edit on the gateway, choose Production, paste the new keys and click Save.
- Click Test credentials. When the Sandbox label disappears and you see Active, you're charging for real.
If a payment arrives late
While the guest pays, their spot is held for a few minutes. If the payment arrives later and the room has already been sold, or if it arrives for a cancelled booking, the booking is marked To refund and we email you. Refund the money from your gateway's dashboard and write to the guest. Roomii never issues refunds on its own.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Roomii charge for online payments?
Nothing. You only pay your Roomii plan. The gateway charges its fee on each payment, like in any online store.
When do I get the money?
When your gateway releases it, on its own schedule. Roomii doesn't handle the money.
Can I switch gateways?
Yes. Set up the new one and mark that you'll use it to charge: the previous one turns off by itself. Payments already in progress still get confirmed.
The guest paid but the booking is still pending
Some methods, such as PSE or cash, take a while to be approved. If several hours go by, check in the gateway that the payment is approved and, with Mercado Pago or Wompi, that the notification URL is pasted correctly.
