Create and edit your rooms

On Roomii you don't create each room separately: you create a type (for example "Double with balcony") and say how many identical units you have.

Types and units

A room type groups identical rooms: same price, same capacity, same photos. Units are how many of them you have.

• A hotel with 3 identical double rooms: one "Double" type with 3 units.
• A glamping site with 2 domes and 1 cabin: a "Dome" type with 2 units and a "Cabin" type with 1.
• A hostel that sells by the bed: a "Bed in 6-bed dorm" type with 6 units and a maximum of 1 guest.

If two rooms have different prices or photos, create them as separate types.

Create a room type

1. Go to Rooms and click New type.
2. Enter the Name your guests will see, for example "Suite with hot tub".
3. Set the Price per night. This is the base price: you can change it later by season in Rates.
4. In Units, enter how many identical rooms or cabins you have, and in Maximum guests, how many people fit in each one.
5. Add a Description (beds, view, size…). It's translated automatically for guests who speak other languages.
6. Tick the Amenities it has. If one is missing, type it in Another amenity… and click Add.
7. Click Upload photos and choose your photos (up to 20, max. 8 MB each).
8. Leave the Visible on my booking page box ticked and click Save.

Photos

• The first photo is the Cover: the one shown in the list of rooms. Use Move earlier and Move later to change the order.
• In Alt text, briefly describe the photo ("Double bed with a lake view"). It helps people who use screen readers and helps Google understand your photos.
• Use landscape photos with good light and no text on top. The first one should show the whole room.

Edit, reorder or hide

• Click a room's card to open Edit room.
• The Order field sets the position it appears in on your page: lower numbers come first.
• To stop selling a room, untick Visible on my booking page. It gets the Inactive label, doesn't appear on your page and doesn't count toward your plan. Its bookings are kept.

Your plan's limit

Above the list you can see how many of the rooms included in your plan you're using, for example 12 of 20 rooms. What counts is the units of visible types: a type with 3 units counts as 3.

If you reach the limit, the New type button is disabled. Contact us to move to the Enterprise plan and add more.
